My heart & prayers goes out to all of those affected by the Boston Marathon tragedy. Please tell your loved ones how much they mean to you and pray for those who are suffering.
Whew. I’m getting behind on the blogging scene, aren’t I? Eh, I’m not too worried about it. Life always picks up when the weather starts getting warmer so I’m just going with it!
Typical Friday ’round these parts.
Trader Joes + pizza + relaxation. Just the way I like it.
Oh, and this new-to-me snack. Obsessed.
Saturday was the day. My birthday, that is! I turned the big 2-5, woohoo. I woke up bright and early to head to the 8am Zumba class and to use my birthday gift from Ryan…
A Polar FT4! I was so excited to use it! It’s pretty easy to use and I barely even noticed it was there while I was shaking my groove thang. Now I just have to remember to use it…
I came home to more birthday surprises.
Dark chocolate, apple pie (pie > cake), ice coffee and chocolate covered pretzels. I’ve never had the iced coffee or the chocolate covered peanut butter filled pretzels (we actually have an inside joke with peanut butter filled pretzels) but they were both sooo good. Definitely a treat!
We got ready and then headed out to La Crosse to see an old friend of mine. She was in from New York for a conference randomly on my birthday and I knew that we had to see each other. We first met when we worked at a summer camp in New York together and immediately became bffs.
We did a brewery tour at Pearl Street Brewery and to be honest…it wasn’t much of a tour. Delicious beer though!
We each got a free beer coupon from the tour at one of the local restaurants so we headed to Sloopy’s.
Turns out it was a big ten bar and they had a Purdue burger (where I went to college)! I ended up going with a different burger but it looked good.
As soon as I saw fried pickles on the menu, I knew I had to have them. I love fried pickles and rarely get them because they aren’t the healthiest item on the planet BUT it was my birthday so splurges don’t count, right? Right.
I’m also rarely in the mood for burgers either but man did one sound good! This burger and tots hit the spot. Mmm.
Ah, love this girl!
We headed back to her hotel to hang out and talk more. I hope it’s not too long until I see her again!
Ryan and I headed out early and got home around 10:30 in the morning. I crashed hard and took not one but two naps. Ha!
All in all it was a great birthday…here’s to 25 being the best year yet!
