Oh hi. I told you this week is busy. We finally don’t have somewhere to be tonight and I am so thankful. I realize my loser status for being a homebody but whatevs. I like to do stuff on the weekends, not weekdays!
Anyways, meals have been wonky as well as working out. I haven’t been to the gym in a week (I miss it!) but I’ve still been running. In fact, yesterday in honor of National Running Day, I ran 2 miles per my training plan.
TWO MILES.
I realize this isn’t a big deal to probably 98% of you reading this, but this is monumental for me. I’ve never ran two consecutive miles in my life, let alone two miles period. The last time I ran a mile was when I was a freshman in high school and it was required in gym class. And I hated every second of it.
And here I am, running TWO WHOLE MILES yesterday by choice. Who am I?!
Clearly a different person than I was in high school because I hated fitness in general. That’s another story for another time though.
Back to the running two miles thang. I honestly thought I couldn’t do it. My run before this one was only running for 8 minutes straight and then walking. I thought it was impossible for me to transition from running for 8 minutes to 20, but I did it! At least I now know that I can run at least half of the upcoming 5K! Exciting stuff. Mostly for me, not for you
Anyways….
That’s pretty much all of the news. Last night a co-worker and I went to Ryan’s (and her fiance’s) baseball game.
Preppin’ for a home run. Not really, but close!
And of course we talked wedding. Speaking of, I haven’t given a wedding update in a while. Maybe I’ll put together a big post covering all that you have missed. Don’t worry, it hasn’t been much. I’m hoping to knock out a lot of the smaller tasks this weekend (read: bridesmaid gifts, welcoming packages, names for tables, finalize centerpieces, look for hair styles, etc). Less than 3 months to go. GAH.
Okay, time for me to go. I need to not stare at a computer anymore. Toodles!
Question: What’s the furthest you have ran? I’m sure most of you have me beat!

13.1 miles!
Good for you! I remember my first 5k….it felt like forever to get to that point. I still haven’t made it past a 5k! My brain always wins over my body, and I end up stopping around 4 or 5 miles…just can’t get that runners high.
I’m in the same boat! It’s totally my brain over my body. I’m hoping it gets easier…
Two miles is awesome. It can seem like an eternity – be proud of your body for rocking that out!
Thank you! I know it’s chump change to some but it’s an accomplishment for me!
13.1 miles as well I remember I used to be like you and then one day I just broke through the wall and ran 4 miles. I was so excited. Keep up the good work!
Thanks friend! I’m still waiting for that break through…
Holler! I still remember the day I ran 2 miles! It was because I ran into a guy I thought was hot while I was running and he told me he wouldn’t let me stop running until I hit 2 miles. I did it. I was tired and sore and looked like a hot mess but I did it. Years later I’m still SLOWLY adding on miles (up to 7 longest) but I won’t forget that one
Nice! I wish my story had a hot guy
Hey stumbled on your blog today and want to say congrats on the 2 miles! When are you running the 5k? I’m in the process of training for my first one in Sept, and I’m only up to a mile now [ahh!]. Anyway thats a great accomplishment, don’t belittle your milestone!
I’m actually running it this coming Saturday…so it’s down to the wire! Good luck on your training!
