It’s Been A Wedding Weekend

Whew. It’s been nearly a week since I’ve posted. A lightening bolt (literally) hit a internet line in our house on Monday night and we weren’t able to get AT&T here until Friday late afternoon. It was kind of nice not being plugged in always to the internet but I did miss my beloved blogging! Sorry to other bloggers that I haven’t been able to comment on your blogs lately, I’ll get back to it, I promise :)

Anyways, this weekend was jam packed with none other than wedding tasks. We are 35 days away (!!) and it is crunch time. I’m still in the “I want to finish all of these little projects mode” so let’s hope this momentum stays. I have a feeling the week before I will give up and will let things be.

I had my hair & makeup trial on Wednesday and it went pretty well. I’m hoping my hair will grow out a little more before the wedding so we’ll see. The stylist was young and fun so I’m excited for all of us to get ready there. I’m using Roots Salon in Brookfield if anyone in the area is interested!

Other wedding tasks this weekend included 2 trips to Joann’s, a Target trip, picking up our wedding bands, guestbook project, finishing the ceremony program, email to guests, rehearsal dinner invite, rehearsal dinner menu, wedding dress fitting, centerpiece project and probably other things that I’m forgetting.

Ryan’s feelings on doing wedding tasks. We first headed out to pick up our wedding bands, Joann’s for a centerpiece project and Metro Market for grocery shopping.

For the centerpiece project, we were initially going to rent emerald green (an accent color) napkins from a place online. Once we submitted our order, we realized it was going to be over $100 just to rent the napkins which I thought was ridiculous so we took on the task to make them ourselves. We’re using th above fabric to make square pieces to put under the floral centerpieces. It’s a bit of a time consuming tasks, but hopefully it will pay off in the end. And much cheaper than renting the napkins!

After we hit up those stores, we needed a mid-day reward.

Half price drinks, what what!

At this point I was still jazzed. And apparently orange.

Then we headed to Target to pick up miscellaneous items for the wedding and for the house. If you’re looking for safety and close pins, they are in the laundry aisle, FYI. Ugh, sometimes I hate shopping.

By the end of Target I was feeling more like this…

I also had my dress fitting yesterday. It went well and I still feel perfect in the dress. My blue shoes go perfectly with it (obsessed with my shoes!!) but I did have one set back. The earrings I initially purchased don’t look right with the dress. I was also planning on not wearing a necklace and now I feel like I look naked without it. I don’t know. I can’t decide! I am returning the earrings and have found new ones on Etsy. I think I’m going to purchase a necklace to, try it out on my next visit and go from there.

All in all we accomplished a lot but we still have a lot left to do. Wish me luck, I’m going to need all that I can get…

Good luck getting everything done!! I’m sure you’ll figure the jewelry out and everything will end up perfect. Your eats this week look really tasty! :)
