Hola amigos! Missed Part 1, Part 2, or Part 3? Check em’ out!
And just like that we were off to partake in a hanging bridge tour! Unfortunately, since we only had an hour at our hotel, we had to eat lunch at the hotel. Or so we thought…we quickly realized that our hotel didn’t start serving lunch until 12:30pm…and our van was coming at 12 to pick us up. Doh!
Now a quick tidbit about me: I can’t not eat. I have a bit of hypoglycemia and if I go too long without eating my blood sugar plummets and I feel miserable. I have passed out a couple of times in my life because I let myself get too hungry so I try to keep plenty of snacks with me. This is a time when I failed and did not have enough snacks on me…
Once we got to Selvatura Park, we frantically looked around for something, anything for me to eat. Turns out there was only a restaurant and we didn’t really have time to sit down and eat. Thankfully, they made our orders to go and we ended up carrying our styrofoam boxes of grilled chicken sandwiches with us…through the rainforest. Keepin’ it classy folks.
Our tour guide was super cool about it though and didn’t mind that we were chowing down. He talked a mile a minute…I could barely keep up with everything he was saying! He was very knowledgeable about Costa Rica and the rainforest which we appreciated.
Onto some pictures!
I spy styrofoam in the rainforest!
After the hanging bridge tour, our tour guide took us to the butterfly garden. I think he said there are over 4,000 species of butterflies in Costa Rica…how crazy!
And lastly, we saw humming birds in the humming bird garden.
I’ll give credit where credit is due… Ryan took ALL of these pictures, what a pro.
The hanging bridge tour was pretty cool…but by far the most exciting adventure we had during our trip was ziplining through the rainforest…which is up next!

HAHA Styrofoam is the rainforest
It seems like the rainforest is just magical. I would totally freak out in the butterfly garden, though. I hate things buzzing around my head!
They actually weren’t buzzing around too much
All of this sounds so neat! I love hummingbirds, so the hummingbird garden would have been awesome.
