Bachelorette Party

I’m finally back! Ah I can’t believe it’s already Wednesday and I still haven’t told you about the weekend! Let’s get right to it.

Friday I took half the day off so I could get an early start on the 5 hour (6 hour if you count the time change) trip. I was dropping off Ryan in Chicago at a friend’s place since he had nothing to do this weekend. The trip was okay until we hit Chicago (of course, Chicago is always terrible to drive through). It started pouring raining and I could barely see the road or any of the exits. Of course, this was after I dropped off Ryan so I didn’t have any help navigating either. I always get really nervous when I’m driving in pouring rain…I can never tell where the road lines are!

Anyways, after about 20 minutes it finally stopped and became sunny again (right around the time I hit Indiana…ironic? I think not.) Not sure why but this trip seemed like it took forever. I used to make long trips by myself all the time during college but I guess since I’m with Ryan now and we pretty much travel together everywhere, driving by myself seemed like a chore. Even music couldn’t distract me.

Eventually, I got to my maid of honor, Molly, apartment. I was so happy to finally stop driving! We hung out for a while and then another bridesmaid, Lauren, showed up. We immediately opened a bottle of wine because, well…I demanded it.

We ordered a pizza, packed up our bags and went to sleep at Molly’s fiancé. He had more room there :)

(No pictures…womp!)

Saturday we woke up early-ish to go to David’s Bridal so Molly could try on a wedding dress! I won’t post a picture in case Brad would ever read this :)

I think she found the one! So exciting. We grabbed lunch at Panera and then headed back to the apartment to hang out some more…before we knew it was time to head downtown to check into our hotel.

There was some sort of bike race going on this weekend which kind of confused our plans of how to actually get to the hotel, but we finally figured it out.

After lugging all of our stuff upstairs (and a giant jug of lemonade mishap), we made it to our room.

Supplies for the night/the next morning. Yes, that is Pedialyte. Don’t hate.

The crew! I’m so glad so many of my friends were able to make it.

Then we headed out. I think we only went to two bars. Of course, as soon as we got to the first one a drink was bought for me.

Car bomb. It actually wasn’t too bad. Until I took two.

Me and maid of honor Molly! Mucho thanks to her for planning this whole shindig.

I’m going to leave it at that since I took…oh 165 photos. In one night. Too many to upload, for sure!

The drive home…well sucked. I was exhausted (that’s what going to bed at 5am does to you) and really didn’t feel like driving but as soon as I made it to Chicago Ryan took over and I was able to sleep. I knew I loved that guy for a reason!

All in all it was a blast and now we are that much closer to the actual big day!

Question: How many bachelorette parties have you been to? What is the craziest thing you have done?

Cute purse :-) I actually haven’t been to too many bachelorette parties. The last one I was at I made the mistake of drinking a long island iced tea…enough said! I have now banned them from my alcohol list.

I’ve actually never been to a bachelorette party! The only one of my friends who had one was on the same weekend as my cousin’s wedding and I had to go to my cousin’s wedding instead. I was so bummed!
